Exceeded my expectations by far December 13, 2008 Mark A. Johnson (San Jose, CA USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I'm aware that there are some split opinions regarding this particular unit. Some people have loved it and others have had tough luck. For what it is worth, my experience has been superb. Having never flown an RC copter, and with a very small living room, I think I represent an almost worse case newbie. Indeed, the crashes have been severe and numerous. However, I'm amazed that the blades are built to accept such punishment to the extent that now I'm pretty good at controlled flight without having to replace the blades yet.
I'm considering ordering another because it's so fun and I'm realistic that a disabling crash is likely in its future. I'd also recommend ordering a second or third battery so you don't have so much down time waiting for the thing to charge (maybe an hour). You can find replacement batteries easily for under [...] and even upgrade the quality to extend your flying time if you want.
One comment I'd make involves the trim controls on the remote. At least one person here and several in other places have advanced the theory that the trim controls are adjusted at the factory and caution you not to mess with them. That's b.s.! First of all, can you imagine the time and effort necessary to adjust the trim on each copter! I have to laugh at the thought that anyone over in China is lovingly taking the time to trim each unit. To put this to rest I've gotten mine hovering and have played with the trim levers. They do, indeed, allow you to trim the unit's flight but their function is not so precise as to make it a disaster if they are set wrong. To the contrary, they are easy to adjust and are relatively forgiving.
One thing that is not exaggerated is the worthlessness of the instructions. Forget about getting any useful information there. The controls are pretty simple. The left joystick controls the throttle (how high you fly is up and down) and the rotation of the copter (push right to rotate right and left to rotate left). The right joystick is forward and backward (up and down on the lever) and left and right (left and right on the stick).
When I got mine I couldn't get it to power up and the LED light kept flashing inside. It flashes three times and goes steady green when it is locked in to your control. I had to learn to adjust my joysticks to get the thing to recognize my controller. Just keep swinging the sticks until you see the lights turn green and then you're set.
I'm enthusiastic about this and I recommend it to you if you're a bit adventurous and a bit of a gambler because I can see how a novice could possibly break this thing on the first flight. However, I've crashed it severely and was able to survive.
FUN!!!! January 9, 2008 L. Tschetter (Minneapolis, MN) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
It took a bit of getting used too, but once you figure out how the trimming works and the sensitivity of the controls (which you can adjust) this toy is a BLAST!!
It seems more durable then I thought it would be. It took a few hard crashes from about 6 feet up into a brick fireplace to even chip a rotor (new rotors are included) and even with the giant chip missing it still flies great!
The instructions aren't that great as the translation is poor, however you can still figure out what they're talking about.
I've easily gotten about 20 minutes of consistent use at one sitting without recharging it from before, so overall I want to say the battery included lasts at least 30-40 minutes. You'd probably have a heating issue before the battery actually died.
The only complaint I can think of is it can be kind of a pain to remove the battery each time you want to turn it off. I think a power switch would have been a good investment.
Overall, this was completely worth the purchase!!

excellently February 8, 2008 Ilich Montilla (barquisimeto, lara venezuela) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
The product is very good, resistant, has his(its) complexity of managing because it(he) is advanced, I repent neither of the buy, nor of the time for that I had to wait in order that it(he,she) was coming to venezuela, quite very well, excellently, thank you
Amazing for price, but be careful! June 14, 2007 Victoria Cubeiro (Newport Beach, California United States) 41 out of 41 found this review helpful
This 4 channel RC helicopter is in my opinion the best out there for under $100. Response from the controls is snappy and precise once trimmed correctly. Durabilitiy has yet to be attained, as I would see most people buying this particular model would be relatively new and inexperienced to the world of RC Helicopters
Battery lasts for about 10 minutes and takes 40 mins - 1 hr to charge fully
Tail rotor is cosmetic only, but still cool
Indicator on transmitter for batter power, and led on helicopter for battery life left in li-ion battery(sometimes hard to see)
Pros-
Price
Speed and control
Looks
BEST BY FAR IN CLASS FOR TRIM ADJUSTMENTS! CANT BE BEAT FOR PRICE!
Cons-
Somewhat lacking on durability for an entry level helicopter
Notched throttle provides lack of precise control for hover flight, unlike a spring tension throttle (Only on occasion however)
